In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Liverpool are eyeing a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams. It has been mentioned that the Merseyside club have identified the Spanish wide player as a replacement for Mohamed Salah this off-season.
Williams has caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Bilbao’s attack this season. The Spanish talent has scored six goals and grabbed seven assists in 32 matches for the Magpies in this campaign in all competitions.
The 23-year-old is currently one of the best wingers in La Liga. Thus, the Reds would do well to get a deal done for him this summer transfer window.
Williams is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2035, which could make it difficult for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Williams is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make some driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can create some promising chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. Williams can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of crucial goals for his side.
The Spanish sensation is primarily a left-sided winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up in this summer transfer period.
Williams would bring more pace and goals to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s frontline. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team place at Anfield in the coming years.
At 23, the future looks quite promising for Williams as long as he continues to improve with each year. The Spaniard might even help Liverpool get back to challenging for some major trophies over the next few years. Furthermore, Williams could prove to be an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club. Thus, Slot would be wise to get him on board this summer.
