In a recent post on X, journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Liverpool are in the running for Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn. It has been claimed that the Reds have held concrete talks to sign the German whizkid this off-season.
Eichhorn has managed to shine at times for the German club as he has produced a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 16-year-old has scored two goals in 19 matches for Leipzig this season across all fronts.
The German prospect is currently one of the best young midfielders in Europe. There, it is no wonder that Liverpool are in the mix to acquire his services this off-season.
Eichhorn is yet to pen a professional contract with the German club, which could open the door for the Reds to sign him in this transfer window.

Eichhorn is a good tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his team in the middle of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when required and can create the odd chance for his teammates up top.
The German youngster can shoot the ball with venom from long range and is a decent dribbler as well. Eichhorn is primarily a holding midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if required. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Reds manage to get a deal done for him later this year.
We can expect Eichhorn to enhance the quality of Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s midfield in the long run. However, he is still not ready to play regular first-team football at Anfield.
At 16, Eichhorn has got a promising future ahead of him as long as he continues to improve with each season. He could prove himself to be a success story at the Merseyside club over the next decade. Eichhorn is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so the Reds would be wise to step up their efforts to sign him this summer.
