In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on Barcelona ace Jules Kounde. It is understood that the Reds would have to compete with Chelsea in the race to acquire the services of the France international in this transfer window.
Kounde enjoyed a good run of form at the Catalan club as he put in a handful of impressive displays for them in La Liga. The French talent was involved in 47 matches for Barcelona last season, scoring three times and earning four assists in multiple competitions.
The 27-year-old is currently one of the most talented full-backs in La Liga. Hence, Liverpool would do well to lure him to Anfield this off-season.
His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Reds to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Kounde is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The French sensation can create the odd chance for his teammates from the right flank. Kounde is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a centre-back if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to bring him on board this off-season.
We can expect Kounde to add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 27, Kounde has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to pursue before the end of this transfer window. All in all, he would be a decent choice for Liverpool as long as they can sign him for a reasonable fee this summer.
