In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Liverpool are set to sign Osasuna winger Victor Munoz. It has been revealed that the Reds have decided to activate the Spain international’s €40m release clause to get the deal over the line for him this summer.

Munoz’s Impressive Rise In La Liga

Munoz managed to catch the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Osasuna’s attack in the previous campaign. The Barcelona-born talent registered seven goals and picked up five assists in 36 matches for the La Liga club last season in multiple competitions.

The 22-year-old is currently among the best young wingers in Spanish football. Thus, the Reds have done well to agree on a deal to land him in this transfer window.

His current deal at Osasuna will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, Liverpool had little choice but to pay his €40m release clause to land him this off-season.

Will Munoz Be A Good Fit For Liverpool?

Munoz is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Spain international can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Munoz is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.

Munoz would enhance the quality of Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s frontline in the long run. He is good enough to fight for regular first-team football at Anfield in the coming seasons.

At 22, Munoz has got a bright future ahead of him as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has what it takes to serve as an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club. All in all, Munoz would be a good fit for Iraola’s needs in this summer transfer window.
