In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke mentioned that Liverpool are set to rival Newcastle United for Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga this off-season. It has been claimed that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring the English wide player to Anfield this summer.
Monga has caught the eye at times with his performances for Leicester in the EFL Championship. The 16-year-old has found the back of the net once and picked up two assists in 28 matches for the Foxes this season across all competitions.
The English talent is currently among the most exciting young teenagers in the EFL Championship. Therefore, it won’t be easy for the Reds to win the race for his services next summer.
However, Monga is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if Liverpool manage to acquire his services in this summer transfer window.

Monga is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The English sensation can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. However, the jury is still out on whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get him on board this summer.
We can expect Monga to enhance the quality of Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s attacking department. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
Furthermore, Monga could serve as an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Premier League club in the long run. With all things considered, he would be an excellent option for the Reds to consider at the end of this campaign. However, Liverpool would have to be patient with his development before they can unlock the best out of him
