Liverpool are actively working on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s highly rated teenage winger Ibrahim Mbaye, as the Merseysiders look to revamp their wide attacking options.

According to RMC Sport, the 18-year-old prodigy has given the green light to a potential move to Anfield despite interest from multiple clubs around Europe.

Seeking to add an elite attacking threat on the right flank after Mohamed Salah’s departure, the Reds view Mbaye as one of Europe’s premier talents.

However, the Senegalese is not the only PSG player on Liverpool’s radar as Anfield officials are also exploring an ambitious swoop for left-winger Bradley Barcola, although PSG’s asking price could prove too steep.

Securing both forwards would represent a significant statement of intent under Andoni Iraola, whose style of play requires wingers at their best.

Fierce competition for places in Paris, alongside the impending arrival of new attacking signings, has prompted Mbaye’s representatives to seek a move that would guarantee him regular first-team football.

Per transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig were previously close to signing Mbaye as a replacement for Yan Diomande, who was seemingly PSG-bound at the time before the move collapsed.

For Liverpool, reaching an agreement with PSG will require forking out a significant fee. The Ligue 1 side hold strong leverage and are reluctant to part easily with one of their top academy graduates.

Reports indicate that PSG are seeking around €50m to consider sanctioning Mbaye’s departure. With the player’s personal approval already secured, Liverpool are expected to accelerate talks in the coming days.
