Despite a challenging start to the season, Mohamed Salah remains at the heart of Liverpool's attacking plans. His manager has no doubts about him.
The 33-year-old forward has yet to find the back of the net in recent matches, including the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. Nevertheless, manager Arne Slot remains confident in Salah’s experience and striker’s instinct:
Salah has been in this kind of situation many times before. He knows how to create chances and score goals. He just needs to regain his rhythm and confidence, and that will come.
Salah has been Liverpool’s top scorer in recent seasons, and Slot believes his presence on the pitch continues to create space for his teammates, especially new arrival Alexander Isak:
Even when he doesn’t score, he creates opportunities and draws defenders. That benefits the team and allows players like Isak to shine.
Liverpool is hoping Salah will soon rediscover his attacking sharpness as the team looks to turn its season around.
