Yan Diomande is almost certainly not going to become a Liverpool player.

Even though , he's now chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain over the Anfield outfit.

Granted, the €120 million + that it would have cost Richard Hughes to bring him to L4 would've been a massive risk but, with the numbers he's put out during the 2025-26 campaign, it feels like he'd have been more than worth it.

That is, especially since he's only 19 years old and will only get better the more he plays.

However, that deal was clearly not meant to be with Liverpool now having to cast their net a bit further to find their perfect match.

Many players have been suggested as potential options with one attacker potentially being an even better signing than Diomande.

Antonio Nusa is available for €50 million

Antonio Nusa is one of Diomande's teammates.

The Norwegian is currently at the 2026 World Cup representing his country and gearing up to face Brazil on Sunday.

Nusa has been one of Norway's best players during the tournament, even managing to bag himself a goal.

As well as being an important player for his country, he's also been a regular feature for RB Leipzig who have exclusively used him as a left winger in the 35 games that he's played.

There have been moments in the past when he's been used on the right so, it feels like he could easily fit into Andoni Iraola's plans if needed, especially since a fresh report from Fussball Daten has now revealed how much the Bundesliga outfit want for him.

"The club's current stance is not based on an urgent need to sell the player," they wrote.

"However, Leipzig is very open to negotiations if a suitable financial offer is received.

"Since the young winger's market value is estimated at around €32 million according to Transfermarkt data, the asking price that Leipzig's management will set is clear.

"The German club is preparing to give the green light for the player's departure if an offer in the region of €50 million is received."

Antonio Nusa could be a better signing for Liverpool than Yan Diomande

Admittedly, Nusa's nine goal contributions don't really match up to Diomande's 23.

However, since there's around €70 million difference between the price of both players, that difference can be looked over.

Diomande probably has a higher ceiling to reach than Nusa but, since the Norway international is 21 years old, he has a bit more experience under his belt and is probably more ready for the step up to the Premier League than Diomande.

Indeed, the fact that he's a natural left-winger is a bit of a worry, especially since the Reds already have Rio Ngumoha, Victor Munoz and Cody Gakpo at their disposal.

However, since versatility is everything in this day and age, it feels like he'd be able to adapt quite quickly if needed.

And, for €50 million (£42.8 million), he'd only be around £7.8 million more than Munoz who only contributed to 12 goals across all competitions and had a release clause so, in the grand scheme of things, the price Leipzig are asking for Nusa isn't all that bad.

Signing an attacker for this price would also allow Liverpool to add even more talent to their ranks and let them bolster their squad in multiple positions, which, after finishing fifth in the Premier League, is exactly what they need to happen.
