As the end of the season nears, Liverpool’s transfer plans are starting to become clear.
The Reds haven’t been good enough this campaign and this summer is the perfect opportunity to get things back on track at Anfield.
Arne Slot has come under serious scrutiny, with many calling for the Dutchman to be sacked, but reports seem to suggest that he will remain in the job heading into next season.
If the hierarchy at Liverpool are truly behind Slot then they must back him once again in the transfer market, but a fresh report has provided the Reds with a worrying update.
Several positions in Slot’s side need addressing in the coming months, and Liverpool’s struggles in front of goal need to be corrected.
One of the names continuously linked with Liverpool for the last 18 months has been Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, who has been one of the most impressive players in the Premier League in that time.
Worryingly for the Reds, a fresh update from Ben Jacobs has suggested that Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG are all leading Liverpool in the race for Rogers.
Jacobs confirmed that both Liverpool and Bayern Munich are not as active in their pursuits at the moment, and that Rogers would be just as open to a move abroad as he would to a Premier League switch.
An £80 million valuation is mentioned, but it is clear that if a bidding war ensues then the final price could end up being considerably higher.
The Englishman has 21 goal involvements for Villa already this season, and has been a genuine contender for Premier League player of the season.
Mainly utilised as an attacking midfielder or on the left-wing by Unai Emery, Rogers offers the kind of versatility that the Reds often look for.
