Liverpool have made a good habit of attracting the best young British and Irish talents to the club over the last few years.

Rio Ngumoha of course is the prime example - with the 17-year-old now firmly established as a first-team option following his transfer from Chelsea in 2024.

There is also Trey Nyoni - recruited from Leicester City in 2023 and now tipped to follow Ngumoha for a more prominent first-team role.

We’ve also got players like Trent Kone-Doherty on the cusp of the first-team squad while James McConnell is out on loan at Ajax for the season.

Liverpool looking at Sessegnon

Liverpool can provide a proper template for young players’ development - and the process is unlikely to come to a halt anytime soon. But their interest in one Fulham wonderkid is set to be frustrated.

According to a report from TBR Football, it looks like 15-year-old sensation Kayden Sessegnon will pledge his future to the Cottagers.

That’s despite interest from Liverpool - as well as Chelsea and Manchester City - with the teenager determined to follow his uncle Ryan into the first team.

Kayden Sessegnon wants to STAY at Fulham

“Kayden Sessegnon has no desire to leave Fulham despite interest from Liverpool and Chelsea – as well as Manchester City,” the report reads.

“The Cottagers can boast a superb academy, but have not always been the beneficiaries of it as the likes of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho jumped ship to join Liverpool in recent times.

“Kayden Sessegnon has no intention of following in their footsteps, despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester City along with the Reds.”

Liverpool must look elsewhere for wonderkid deal

Sessegnon is seen as one of the best teenage talents at a Premier League and will be eligible for a scholar’s contract when he turns 16 next July.

Depending on how his career progresses from there, we could see Sessegnon sign a pro deal when he turns 17.

Sessegnon, a forward, has ALREADY played for the Fulham U18s and looks primed for a strong start to his career. Liverpool will have to move to their next target - with their hopes of adding another youth star to the academy seemingly now dashed.
