New Reds boss will be hopeful of fast start at Anfield after replacing Arne Slot

Liverpool begin the Andoni Iraola era away at Newcastle, with their fixtures for the new Premier League season now confirmed.

Iraola has swapped the south coast, with Bournemouth, for Anfield, replacing Arne Slot, who was sacked in May just 12 months after winning the Premier League title.

Champions League qualification, secured on the final day of the campaign, was not enough to keep Slot in a job after a tumultuous season plagued with injuries, rumours of in-fighting and constant speculation over the coach’s future.

In comes Iraola, who impressed with the Cherries to earn the top job on Merseyside, leading them into Europe for the very first time. Newcastle away is part of a favourable-looking opening run for Liverpool to kick off the new campaign.

Manchester City come to Anfield on October 10, followed by champions Arsenal three weeks later. Manchester United at home is on November 21, with Liverpool visiting Old Trafford on January 23.

Liverpool are away at Arsenal on February 6, while they go to City’s Etihad Stadium on May 8.

The first Merseyside derby of the season is away at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on November 28, with Everton making the short journey to Anfield on January 30.

The traditional festive period will see Liverpool away at Championship play-off winners Hull on Boxing Day, with an away game against Aston Villa to follow.

Their first match of 2027 is at home to second-tier winners Coventry, and the season concludes with Iraola’s old club Bournemouth visiting Anfield.
