Liverpool’s goal heading into 2026 could be finding a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, and a PSG star is reportedly on their radar.
Earlier this month, CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool have started laying the groundwork on potential long-term options to succeed Mohamed Salah, with Bradley Barcola emerging as one of the names being monitored.
The same report added that PSG are keen to keep Barcola and could reward him with a new contract, even though the winger is already under contract until 2028. Even so, a transfer to Liverpool remain a viable option.
With heavy competition in PSG’s attacking ranks, Barcola has not been able to lock down a consistent starting spot under Luis Enrique, a situation that may prompt interest in a new challenge elsewhere.
“Liverpool have already begun background work on replacing Salah,” one well-placed figure in the industry said. “A player they really like, and have been following closely for some time, is Bradley Barcola.”
According to the outlet, Barcola is also described as being open to weighing up his future, a stance that could open the door for Liverpool to explore a move.

The latest news on this rumor comes from Indykaila News, which indicates that Barcola has told his agent he would only consider a move to Liverpool if he receives assurances of a first-team role at Anfield. As for his transfer value, Transfermarkt puts it at €70 million.
Liverpool have been dealing with issues with Salah this month, which is likely prompting their efforts to find a young winger to replace him long-term.
After a 3-3 draw against Leeds United on December 6, he spoke in the mixed zone and said the club had “thrown him under the bus.” Salah then went three straight matches without a place in the starting lineup, a stretch he said he had never experienced before.
He also conceded that the relationship with manager Arne Slot had deteriorated. In the wake of those comments, Liverpool left the Egyptian out of the group traveling to Milan on Monday, and Salah did not make the trip for the Champions League win over Inter.
