Yan Diomande has scuppered Liverpool’s summer transfer plans.
The attacker was clearly the Reds’ number one choice to replace Mohamed Salah this summer.
Although his favoured position is on the left, RB Leipzig have often used the Ivorian on the right and, at the 2026 World Cup, he’s been used there with Bazoumana Toure out on the left.
However, now that the Leipzig ace has said that he wants to play for Paris Saint-Germain instead of Liverpool, Richard Hughes is going to have to change his plans completely.
Bradley Barcola has been mentioned as a potential option but now, rumours are emerging about a completely different player potentially making his way back onto the Reds’ shortlist.
Crysencio Summerville is one of the many players to be linked with move away from West Ham United this summer.
The Hammers dropped down into the second tier this season after missing out on safety by just two points.
This relegation has led to many rumours about their players emerging with Jarrod Bowen being linked with a Liverpool move.
However, a fresh report from The Athletic has detailed that Liverpool could revisit a deal for Summerville themselves this summer.

"Last week, The Athletic reported Diomande was a player of interest, but that other options were under consideration, including Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, Said El Mala of FC Koln and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo," they wrote.
"Liverpool are also admirers of PSG’s Bradley Barcola and have previously looked at the situation of Crysencio Summerville."
The article also mentions Manchester United being interested in signing the Dutchman.
"Although midfield is the clear focus, United may seek to strengthen their left-hand side this summer, potentially at left wing. Crysenscio Summerville is one possible target."
Much like most of Liverpool’s attacking targets, Summerville is a natural left-winger.
The Dutchman first broke onto the scene while plying his trade for Leeds in the Championship.
His immense form led to him earning a move from Elland Road to West Ham and, since then, he’s had a bit of an uphill battle.
Injuries have plagued his time in East London with his performance levels only really showing through in the second half of the 2025-26 season.
During the second half of the campaign, he scored 7 goals and assisted his teammates five times which even led to Steve Gerrard praising him.
His performances did also earn him a call-up to the Netherlands national team where he bagged two goals and two assists in the four World Cup games he played.
Clearly, the 24-year-old has a wealth of talent up his sleeve but, this could mean that the price to prise him away from the London Stadium could be extortionate.
So, if this is the case, it’s a deal Liverpool should ignore, but if a fee around £50 million is enough, the Dutchman could be worth the risk for Liverpool.
