Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing Murillo from Nottingham Forest in the summer.
According to a report from TeamTalk, Liverpool has scouted him extensively and is prepared to offer €80 million to secure the deal. The report further claims that an exit is ‘very likely’ in the summer for the Brazilian.
The 23-year-old wants to compete at a high level, and joining Liverpool could be exciting for him. Murillo has also been linked with Chelsea.
Arsenal have also been linked with the player, but they might find it difficult to accommodate him in the starting line-up. They are already well-stocked in the defensive unit.
On the other hand, Manchester United could certainly use more quality at the back, and the Brazilian would be an excellent addition. He could be the ideal long-term replacement for Harry Maguire. The 23-year-old has been a reliable performer in the Premier League, and he has the quality to improve Liverpool and Manchester United. The opportunity to join them will be hard for the young defender to turn down.
Nottingham Forest will not want to lose a quality player like him, but an offer of €80 million (£70m) will be hard to turn down. Also, the Brazilian could have his head turned if there is a concrete proposal from clubs like Liverpool on the table.
Liverpool have looked vulnerable at the back this season, and they need to improve defensively. Signing the Brazilian would be ideal for them. He could replace Ibrahima Konate, who will be a free agent in the summer.
It remains to be seen which of the three clubs can win the race for his signature. The defender is likely to want to join a club where he can regularly fight for trophies and play every week.
