Luis Diaz has emerged as one of the foremost priorities for FC Barcelona this summer as they look to improve their domestic treble-winning squad before next season.

The Liverpool winger has been on the Blaugrana’s radars for quite some time now, with sporting director Deco understood to be a huge admirer.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr are also keen on signing the Colombian international as a means to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club, with an €85 million bid also understood to be in the works.

Liverpool not considering sale

However, amidst all these speculations, Paul Joyce of The Times reports that Liverpool are not actively looking to part ways with Luis Diaz this summer despite the growing interest in the winger.

Earlier this week, it was suggested that the Premier League champions have a gentleman’s agreement with the player to let him leave if a good offer were to arrive.

However, that does not appear to be the case and the Reds, at this moment, are not considering selling the 28-year-old Colombian international, despite the speculations linking him with a move away.

In fact, Liverpool have been left perplexed by the noise surrounding Diaz and his future as manager Arne Slot considers him a vital player due to his ability to play on the left flank or through the middle which came very handy for the team this season.

There have been reports that the Premier League bigwigs want to renew his contract which expires in 2027.

But at the moment, Liverpool have no plans to hold talks over a new deal with Diaz. At the same time, there are no active plans to offload him either.

So, it remains to be seen how things progress as far as Barcelona’s pursuit of Diaz is concerned in the coming weeks.
