Liverpool have been frustrated in their chase for Yan Diomande.
The Ivorian winger, 19, has opted against a move to Merseyside - not long after the outgoing Premier League champions had an opening bid turned down by RB Leipzig.
Sporting director Richard Hughes offered a fee that could reach €100m for the Cote d’Ivoire international - who is under contract with the Red Bull-owned club until 2030.
That sum wasn’t enough for Leipzig to consider a deal - with the Bundesliga side swatting Liverpool’s bid away.
Before a second raid could be launched it emerged that Diomande was angling for a move to Paris Saint-Germain instead - if Leipzig were willing to do business.
Since then the Anfield club have been linked with several other wide attackers - including Yankuba Minteh, Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Said El Mala.
And now according to Dave Davies on The Transfer Show a surprise new name has emerged on the list in the shape of Manchester City’s 22-year-old Brazilian forward Savinho.
“Liverpool are now on the alternate list,” the journalist says.
“Liverpool have asked City about Savinho.”
Another name mentioned in the report is Pedro Neto of Chelsea - while we brought you news of Liverpool’s interest in Kevin, 23, of Fulham.
Savinho is a 22-year-old left-footed Brazilian winger/attacking midfielder for Manchester City, wearing No 26 and arriving via the City Football Group pathway after a breakout year on loan at Girona.
Standing around 1.76–1.79m, he offers a wiry frame, balance and acceleration that suit City’s wide roles and half-space pockets.
His 2025/26 campaign saw him make 36 appearances in all competitions for City, with 4 goals and 2 assists, plus regular cameos in the Premier League and a deeper role in the Champions League run.
Stylistically he is a high-volume dribbler and ball-carrier on the right, driving inside onto his left foot, combining close control with third-man runs and cut-backs rather than being a pure touchline winger.
Savinho is under contract at City until 2029 and already valued north of €40m, giving the club total control over his medium-term future.
The realistic transfer destiny in the short term is another strategic loan or staying to grow into a more consistent rotation option, with a big-money move to a Champions League club in Spain or England more likely a medium-term outcome if he gets blocked in the pecking order.
