Victor Osimhen has admitted that he hopes Galatasaray avoid Liverpool in the Champions League last 16.
Galatasaray were beaten 3-2 by Juventus on Wednesday night, but still progressed 7-5 on aggregate after a whirlwind of a second leg in Turin.
Juventus, who were reduced to ten men when Lloyd Kelly was controversially sent-off in the 49th minute, scored three goals without reply to level the tie on aggregate and force extra-time.
Osimhen then restored Galatasaray’s advantage in the first half of extra time before Baris Alper Yilmaz scored in the 119th minute to settle the tie once and for all.
As a result of finishing 20th in the league phase, the Turkish side will face a Premier League team in the next round.
The Champions League draw for the last 16 takes place on Friday and Osimhen, after helping Galatasaray overcome Juventus, revealed he would prefer to face Tottenham instead of Liverpool.
The Nigeria international scored the only goal of the game against Liverpool in the league phase meeting back in October and the striker is wary of Arne Slot’s side being out for revenge.
“I mean to be honest with you, meeting Liverpool now is going to be like some sort of revenge,” Osimhen told CBS Sports.
“Anyone we meet now… I wouldn’t say much but I would like to escape Liverpool.
“But if they come, yeah, we’re going to dig it out but it’s not going to be easy.

“I mean this is Champions League, no team is easy, we can see how flying Bodo/Glimt are really doing in this tournament.
“If you want to win you also have to play the big dogs and make a statement for yourself.
“We’ve met Liverpool but we haven’t played at Anfield. If we meet them it’s going to be an amazing game. I think we’re up to the task, it’s not going to be easy, of course, but we have fight in us.”
