Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga ahead of the summer transfer window, with growing indications that the France international could be available if the right proposal arrives.
Camavinga joined Real Madrid in 2021 as one of Europe’s most highly rated young midfielders and the Spanish giants secured his services for a fee widely considered a bargain at the time. Since then he has developed into a reliable squad option in Madrid, though his long term role at the club has often been debated.
Now, with Liverpool exploring potential midfield changes and Real Madrid assessing their own squad balance, the 23-year-old’s future has again become a talking point.
Eduardo Camavinga has played a variety of roles for Real Madrid during his time in Spain. While primarily a midfielder, he has frequently been used in different positions, including spells at left back, which has limited his ability to establish a consistent role in the centre of the pitch.
Despite that versatility, the expectation around Camavinga has always been that he could develop into a dominant midfielder at the very highest level. Real Madrid still value him highly, though there is acknowledgement internally that a move could be discussed under the right conditions.

Respected journalist Matteo Moretto recently addressed the situation and suggested a departure cannot be dismissed this summer.
“He’s not untouchable,” Moretto told Radio MARCA. “There are already Premier League clubs interested in him. For now, Real Madrid haven’t set a price, but it’s clear they don’t want to go below €50m.”
Those comments have intensified speculation, particularly in England, where Liverpool are known admirers.
Liverpool have tracked Eduardo Camavinga for several years and remain attentive to developments at Real Madrid. Recruitment staff at Anfield have long viewed him as a midfielder with elite technical ability, tactical intelligence and considerable room for further growth.
Discussions between Liverpool and Real Madrid have reportedly touched on several possibilities, including a potential swap involving Alexis Mac Allister. While talks remain preliminary, the idea reflects interest from both clubs in exploring creative solutions.
Real Madrid appreciate Mac Allister’s experience at the highest level, including his role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup triumph, while Liverpool believe Camavinga could thrive in the Premier League environment under Arne Slot.
Mac Allister recently confirmed that there are currently no contract discussions underway with Liverpool, which has only fuelled further transfer speculation.
Liverpool’s final position this season may shape the direction of any summer business. European qualification remains uncertain and recent results have left the club facing pressure in the closing months of the campaign.
A 1-1 draw with Tottenham slowed momentum in the race for Champions League places, while Liverpool must overturn a 1-0 deficit against Galatasaray to continue their European run.
Frustration has been visible within the squad. Dominik Szoboszlai spoke candidly after the Tottenham match, warning that performances must improve quickly if Liverpool are to secure European football next season.
Should Liverpool fall short of Champions League qualification, it could accelerate movement in the squad, both incoming and outgoing. In that scenario, Eduardo Camavinga’s situation at Real Madrid may become one of the most closely watched stories of the summer transfer window.
For now, Liverpool remain alert to developments in Madrid as they assess their midfield plans for the months ahead.
