Luis Diaz remains a key target for FC Barcelona this summer as they continue to pursue the signing of a new left-winger.

The Colombian international has a lot of admirers at the Catalan club, although their financial situation and his steep price tag have made his signing seem economically unfeasible.

Furthermore, the strong interest from Bayern Munich as well as Liverpool’s stance on the winger’s future have complicated the situation.

Liverpool reject Bayern Munich’s offer

In the latest development in the transfer story, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich’s formal offer for Luis Diaz.

The German champions are understood to have tabled a proposal worth €67.5 million for the 28-year-old speedster as they ramp up efforts to lure him away from Anfield.

However, Liverpool have immediately rejected the proposal from Bayern Munich.

The Premier League title-holders value the attacker at over €100 million, although that is said to be only for accounting purposes. As far as his future is concerned, the Reds firmly insist that he is not for sale.

Diaz, for his part, is intent on taking up a new challenge and is ready to leave Liverpool this summer, even though there are two years left on his contract.

But Liverpool’s stance of him not being on the market and their valuation of over €100 million, make it nearly impossible for Barcelona to sign him in the current transfer window.

As such, the La Liga champions are already exploring alternatives, with names like Marcus Rashford and Bryan Zaragoza among those being monitored.
