Liverpool have begun plans to replace the departing Mohamed Salah ahead of next summer’s transfer window, while also targeting another winger.
Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise is at the top of their list to replace Salah, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
However, Bayern are not prepared to sell the French winger, who is under contract until 2029, making a move less feasible.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola is also on Liverpool’s shortlist. The Reds were linked with him last summer, but opted not to intensify their interest due to Rio Ngumoha’s emergence.
Barcola is currently in negotiations with PSG to extend his contract, which expires in 2028. Liverpool could revive their interest if an agreement is not reached.
RB Leipzig dazzling winger Yan Diomande and Juventus’ Francisco Conceicao are also on the Reds’ radar.
Salah leaves behind a huge legacy and replacing him could be a daunting task for Liverpool.
That said, Olise could help reduce the impact of Salah’s departure.
Olise is not as prolific as Salah, but his numbers this season mirror those of the Egyptian at his best.
The Frenchman is enjoying his most productive campaign at Bayern, plundering 16 goals and 27 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
His 43 goal involvements are the most of all wingers in Europe’s top five leagues. He has also registered more assists (27) than any other player.
Olise has created seven big chances in the Champions League this term — a tally only bettered by Salah — while he is joint-first for key passes.
If Bayern open the door to negotiations, Liverpool should be at the front of the queue for Olise’s signature.
