Paris Saint-Germain heads to Anfield with momentum after a dominant 4-1 win over Stade Rennais on Saturday at Roazhon Park. The match was scoreless for the first 25 minutes, but in the 27th, Bradley Barcola broke the deadlock to give PSG a 1-0 lead.

Both teams found the net early in the second half. Gonçalo Ramos doubled PSG’s advantage in the 50th minute, but Rennes quickly responded when a deflected corner fell near the post, allowing Lilian Brassier to tap it in.

Rennes pushed hard to stay in the game, but Ousmane Dembele, who came on in the 64th minute, struck twice in stoppage time against his former club, sealing a commanding 4-1 victory for PSG.

Rennes’ Brice Samba spoke to beIN SPORTS after the loss, and one of the questions the French shot-stopper was asked was whether he sees PSG advancing past Liverpool. Moreover, Samba notes that he wants the Ligue 1 leaders to advance to help France’s coefficient.

“Everything is possible when you look at Wednesday’s match,” Samba said (h/t Paris Fans). “They dominated and the way they crushed that Liverpool team. I wish them all the best. If they can progress to add points to France, we won’t hold back. They have the ability, and they can overturn this Liverpool team.”
