Liverpool are considering a summer move for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, according to daveockop.com.
Liverpool are believed to be ready to make a move, even if West Ham avoid relegation, provided the price is right.
The Merseyside giants have been long-term admirers of the England international. They were linked with him in 2023, before he signed a new deal.
Described as an ‘unbelievable player‘ by former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Bowen is enjoying a good season, despite West Ham’s struggles.
He broke the club’s record for most goal involvements in the Premier League in January’s 3-1 win over Sunderland. He has tallied 16 goal involvements in 33 top-flight games.
The 29-year-old is under contract until 2030, meaning he is likely to command a sizable fee, unless West Ham get relegated.
It remains to be seen how much Liverpool will push to sign him, given his age.
The Reds are expected to strengthen their attacking department this summer by signing at least two need forwards.
Mohamed Salah is set to leave, while Federico Chiesa is expected to be sold. Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury has further increased the need to strengthen their attack.
Bowen would be an ideal signing, given his quality and top-flight experience. He has 64 goals and 51 assists in 233 appearances in the competition.
He can play anywhere across the frontline and as an attacking midfielder, highlighting his versatility. His leadership quality would also be a massive addition to the Reds’ dressing room.
Liverpool should intensify their interest in the English forward if the price is right.
