Liverpool have got a contract conundrum to solve with Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman is out of contract in 2026 - and so far no new agreement has been reached over a new deal.

If the club and the 26-year-old’s entourage cannot come to terms over a renewal then he will be heading out of Anfield for free at the end of the season.

But it’s not only Konate whose contract is ticking down. Andy Robertson is among the contingent in 2026 who is also expecting to leave the club - while 2027 could bring the curtain down on several all-star Liverpool careers.

Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk will see their terms expire in 2027 while Alisson Becker completes the trio of Liverpool legends who could be leaving in two years.

Curtis Jones contract expires in 2027

Given their ages it might be a case of the club seeing those players go into a natural decline - but there are other talents who will still be at their peak who need to be sorted before 2027.

Among them is Curtis Jones.

The homegrown midfielder, 24, is a key fixture of Arne Slot’s first team - helping the Anfield club to the Premier League title last season.

That was in fact Jones’ second Premier League title win - having first conquered it in 2020 - but there is no doubt he grew in importance and centrality last term.

Renew Jones and keep his value high

And now sporting director Richard Hughes has got a critical renewal in front of him with Jones.

The England international is reported to be making around £15k per week according to various sources - which if true means Jones is among the Reds’ least-paid first-team players.

A renewal would surely catapult him into the category of £100k per week earners - a just reward for such an integral figure. It would also have the secondary benefit of keeping his value high.

Jones - as a title-winner and full international with homegrown status is surely worth at least £50m and tying him down for longer would increase his price tag even further.

Jones contract will be sorted 'pretty soon'

While there are no doubts about Jones’ future at the club - upping his salary and protecting his value would surely ward off suitors.

Arsenal have been previously linked with the versatile midfielder - but given his cult status among fans there is no wish to see him go anywhere.

Now, according to a report in TBR Football, a new deal for Jones is imminent and Jones can get busy plotting a future at his hometown club.

“When it comes to Liverpool contracts, I think Curtis Jones will be sorted pretty soon,” Graeme Bailey wrote.

Jones is approaching the 200-game mark for the Reds at this stage of his career with it now expected that he will substantially add to that record and become a one-club man in the vein of Jamie Carragher before him.
