Liverpool will enter the new season as Premier League champions, which is a bit of a goosebumps moment. It will only be the second time the Reds have experienced this feeling in the last century.

Of course, the other 18 league titles are count, we aren't under the impression that football began in 1992, but this will be a special season, regardless of how the team ends up performing. We're the ones to beat this time around and everyone else will have to wrestle the title off us if they want it.

Important additions have been made in the transfer market to bolster the team's stocks going into another arduous and long campaign, but when August rolls around, the club will be ready to kick on.

Florian Wirtz headlines the new names, with Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi all following behind him, and the club might still have some more business to finish.

But alongside the rest of the current squad is Jayden Danns, a young striker who hasn't really had an opportunity to make his mark in the first team on a regular basis. This season might be his year.

Buying just ONE striker will be expensive

Liverpool entered this summer needing a striker, as Darwin Nunez's exit was looming as an inevitable bit of business that the club needed to handle. His £85m move failed to live up to expectations and his attitude, alongside his attacking returns, suggest that he would benefit from a move elsewhere.

Securing a deal for him to leave is proving to be a little trickier than most of us might have expected, given how many clubs we reported to have been interested in him, but it appears as though the club's asking price might be a little too high - although at least £50m seems fair, based on potential.

Nonetheless, once that side of things is sorted, a new replacement will be required and the available options are not particularly enticing. Frankfurt want €100m (£86m) for Hugo Ekitike, Leipzig want €90m (£77.6m) for Benjamin Sesko and outside of that, we're looking at surprise options.

In spite of those figures, you would expect a player to be bought to replace Nunez, although neither of the options are as appealing as Alexander Isak or Julian Alvarez, who are both unavailable.

But even if Nunez is sold and replaced, another hole needs to be filled in Liverpool's squad.
