Atalanta will have to do without Giorgio Scalvini for the next few weeks, while Charles De Ketelaere remains a doubt for Sunday’s Serie A match against Torino, but reigning African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman is back in first-team training and could potentially feature for the first time this season.

Ivan Juric had to deal with blows to both De Ketelaere and Scalvini on the night, who added to an injury list that already included Gianluca Scamacca, Ederson, Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker.

According to updates from Sky Sport Italia on Friday, Juric can breathe a sigh of relief over De Ketelaere’s condition, as medical tests have revealed no major injuries despite his withdrawal against PSG on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether he will start against Torino on Sunday, though.

Scalvini, meanwhile, is expected to be sidelined for slightly longer. Initial reports indicate that he will miss around two to three weeks of action as the result of a muscular injury to his right adductor. That rules him out of upcoming fixtures against Torino, Juventus, Club Brugge and Como.

With several injury and fitness concerns to contend with this weekend, there could potentially be an opportunity for Lookman to feature for the first time since the end of the 2024-25 season.

The Nigeria international has trained away from the Atalanta first-team for the majority of the summer and start of the 2025-26 season after handing in a transfer request, but ultimately seeing a move from the club fall through during the summer transfer window.

He has returned to training with the first-team group this week, and could potentially be in line for an opportunity against Torino on Sunday.
