LOSC confirm Rio Mavuba return as Julien Meilhac named academy director | OneFootball

LOSC announced on Tuesday the return of former captain Rio Mavuba to a senior academy role, while appointing Julien Meilhac as director.

President Olivier Létang had said last month that changes were coming within the academy, and these have now been confirmed.

Mavuba returns nine years after leaving the club. Captain of the 2011 double, he will serve as sporting manager and talent manager of the academy. The role follows his exit from the Girondins de Bordeaux bench.

Jean-Michel Vandamme, 66, is set to step back soon after four decades in football.

Meilhac, 42, becomes academy director after holding the same position at Stade Malherbe de Caen since July 2025. He will report to Mavuba and work closely with him, particularly on the centre's technical management.
