Louis Mafouta ‘to join’ Le Mans after medical | OneFootball

Guingamp striker Louis Mafouta has passed a medical ahead of a move to Le Mans as the promoted club seek at least two attacking recruits for their Ligue 1 return.

Foot Mercato reported that he is set to join Le Mans. Absent from Guingamp’s double-header in Dinard on Friday, against Laval (1-1) and Red Star (1-0), he struck 15 Ligue 2 goals last season.

The Central African Republic international has 33 caps and 16 goals. Under contract at Guingamp until 2028, he was attracted by a return to the elite after 15 matches and 2 goals with Metz in 2022, despite other options earlier in the window.

His arrival would add to the confirmed signing of Billal Brahimi, an attacker more accustomed to playing wide.

He would bolster a forward line led last season by Dame Gueye, whose 10 goals ranked 11th in the division, and Antoine Rabillard, who extended his contract in June to 2028.
