Lucas Paquetá impressed for Brazil in a 6-2 friendly win over Panama, drawing praise from Carlo Ancelotti and prompting selection questions before the World Cup.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Ancelotti highlighted the midfielder’s off-ball and in-possession roles, wider without the ball and moving inside with it. He said the team looked balanced, namechecking Danilo of Botafogo on the left, and judged Paquetá’s display very good.
Paquetá featured only in the second half as part of several changes, and his 45 minutes reopened debate within the coaching staff. Ancelotti has not ruled out adjustments for what lies ahead at the tournament.
The coach admitted the second-half performance left him considering a change of strategy, adding that the doubts it raised are important.
Brazil now turn to Egypt on Saturday 06 at 19:00 Brasília time at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, their final run-out before the World Cup opener.
