Lucas Piton is nearing a return to group training a little over a month after damaging the medial collateral ligament in his left knee against Mirassol in the Brasileirão on 2 December. The speed of his recovery has pleased the club.
According to Globo.com, during the break he undertook private physiotherapy to accelerate his rehab and is completing all exercises set by Vasco’s Health and Performance Department without restriction or pain.
He has been at CT Moacyr Barbosa since players reported back and completed medical tests, with his camp expecting a return in the coming days, while the club gives no timelines.
Vasco ended 2025 with three others in the medical department, Adson, Jair and Mateus Carvalho. Adson fractured his tibia in July and is hopeful of a return soon. He was back at the CT on Friday to start work for the early rounds of the Campeonato Carioca and remains on partial sessions.
Mateus Carvalho ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee with meniscus and collateral damage during the warm-up for the first match of the Copa do Brasil final against Corintians at Neo Química Arena. He has not yet had surgery, which is expected between seven and 10 this month.
Jair has been out since September after surgery on a multiligament injury in his right knee, including partial ACL and MCL tears and meniscus damage, and faces a long lay-off.
