Lucas Stassin handed first Belgium call-up for United States and Mexico friendlies | OneFootball

Saint-Étienne forward Lucas Stassin has received his first Belgium call-up as Rudi Garcia named a 28-player squad for friendlies against the United States and Mexico.

Belgium face the United States in Atlanta on Saturday 28 March at 20:30, then Mexico in Chicago on Tuesday 31 March. RTBF reported that Garcia sees this as one of the last windows to assess new players and set expectations, with Mika Godts of Ajax Amsterdam and 17-year-old Anderlecht player Nathan De Cat also selected for the first time.

The 21-year-old’s inclusion follows a surge in club form, three goals and one assist in his past four matches after a barren run since late September.

Injury has ruled out Thibaut Courtois. Thomas Meunier, Kevin De Bruyne, Jérémy Doku and Romelu Lukaku are selected after missing the previous camp, and Lille’s Nathan Ngoy is again included.

Belgium have qualified for the 2026 World Cup and are in Group G with Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.
