Lucas Beraldo’s (21) minutes at Paris Saint-Germain have been limited. The Brazilian, since arriving from Sao Paulo back in January 2024, has failed to carve out a place in the starting XI. Instead, it is Willian Pacho who has featured prominently alongside club captain Marquinhos.
Also capable of playing at left-back, his opportunities have been limited here, too, with Nuno Mendes the first-choice option, with Lucas Hernandez also competing in both positions. Whilst Beraldo has played six times in Ligue 1 this season, he has yet to play a single match of UEFA Champions League football for PSG this season.
Naturally, Beraldo, who is now a regular for Brazil at international level, wants more regular first-team football. However, speaking at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Luis Enrique called for patience from the young defender, who reportedly looked to leave the European champions during the summer transfer window.
“Beraldo is very young but has lots of experience, an assured personality… I am happy with him. At the moment, he is not playing as much as he would like. That is how it is. It is difficult to be an important player for PSG now,” said Luis Enrique.
