Paris Saint-Germain are looking to be less active in the transfer window going forward as they look to more heavily lean on their academy and the rich talent pool that is the Ile-de-France.
However, PSG’s form has been middling of late, by their own very high standards. The reigning European champions currently trail RC Lens in Ligue 1, whilst earlier this week, they were also eliminated from the Coupe de France by their cross-city rivals, Paris FC.
Could the club’s recent form force them into being more active in the current transfer window? “We are open, of course, but it isn’t linked to the defeat against Paris FC,” began Luis Enrique in Thursday’s press conference.
He added, “We are always, but we are in no rush.” Last January, Les Parisiens brought in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who was one of the drivers of the club’s UCL triumph. PSG are not being linked with a big-money move this month, although, as per a report from L’Équipe, they have an interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, who has been unsettled by the departure of Enzo Maresca. No move is expected for the Argentina international this month, however.
