In his pre-match press conference earlier today, the Paris Saint-Germain manager discussed his side’s game against FC Nantes, which kicks off at 21:00 CET tomorrow (Matchday 13 of Ligue 1) at the Parc des Princes.
'We're preparing well; we're fully focused, and we're doing everything that we need to do in order to be ready for this game. We've had three days to prepare for it, and we'll be ready. We're going to face a highly motivated Nantes side, but we'll be at home, in front of our fans at the Parc des Princes, and we're going to approach this game as we always do, with the will to win it.'
'We reckon that they have fewer points than they deserve; they've created a lot in their last few games. Last year, they were hard to play against, and they'll be highly motivated again tomorrow because they'll be playing away to the league leaders. It'll be a difficult game, but I hope that we play with intensity and that we pick up the points that we need to pick up.'
'It's a competitive league, and even though we're top, we always need to do better and to improve. Every game counts, and every game acts as a basis for us to work from.'
'I feel very confident, even though our points tally doesn't reflect our performances. We didn't do everything that we needed to do in Munich to pick up points, but I feel very optimistic. We need to take a positive approach to matches, which will give us the confidence to go and pick up the points that we need. We know that there are areas where we can improve; there always are, and we're working on them.'
'Our supporters are among the best out there. At the Parc des Princes, they're incredible and are always behind us, and I know that the players who wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt are proud to be able to do so. Any players that don't give everything don't play, and the fans know that that's how it is with me. My players give everything.'
'He can create different in-game situations, and he has a different profile. That profile allows us to vary our style of play depending on the match and on the opponent. I use a number nine or a false nine depending on what we need in each situation and in each game.'
'The team gave a good account of itself in that game. We were able to press them and to disrupt them. We could've made a better start to the game and dealt with their press better, but we had two great chances, as did they. We conceded the goal and then had to modify certain things. Even at 10 v. 11, though, we stayed in the game, and I think that there are more positives than negatives to take from it, even though the result wasn't a good one.'
