The Addicks are reportedly keen on re-signing Lyndon Dykes, who spent the second-half of the 2025/26 season at The Valley on a short-term deal.

Charlton Athletic can certainly take positives from their first season back in the Championship under the management of Nathan Jones.

The Addicks finished 19th in the second-tier standings last term, and showed glimpses of their quality, which they'll be keen to build on moving forwards.

Jones has already been busy during the summer transfer window, as he's added four signings to his first-team squad ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign.

Billy Koumetio, Ivan Mesik, and Karlan Grant have all signed deals with Charlton, whilst Danny McNamara was the latest player to sign along the dotted line at The Valley.

Plenty of players left over the summer as well, so many of the club's supporters will feel as though the signings they've made were certainly necessary.

It doesn't seem as though Nathan Jones is done adding to his squad either, as they're reportedly eyeing a move for a familiar face before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Lyndon Dykes spent the second-half of the 2026/26 season with Charlton, after signing a short-term deal with the Addicks until the end of that campaign.

It's been recently reported by Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph that Charlton are preparing an improved contract offer to Dykes, amid interest from other English and Scottish clubs in signing the forward.

Dykes chipped in with three goals and three assists in his 20 appearances for the Addicks last season, in what was a successful loan spell with Nathan Jones' side.

It remains to be seen whether any other offers are on the table for the Scottish international, but he'll be keen to have his future resolved at the earliest of opportunities, as he prepares for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Charlton have strong strong options in attack, and Dykes would further bolster that attacking depth that the Addicks need ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Charlie Kelman is yet to hit the sort of form that justified the hefty price that Charlton stumped up for his services, whilst Miles Leaburn isn't the type of player that will score goals on a frequent basis in this team.

Nathan Jones will know exactly what he's getting with Dykes as well, and is clearly keen on working with the forward again in the near future.

Dykes spent four years with QPR earlier in his career, before moving to Birmingham City, where he played his part in their promotion-winning season from League One, in what was a memorable campaign for the Blues.

He's without a club at this moment in time, but given the rumoured interest from plenty of teams, it seems as though it'll only be a matter of time before he reaches an agreement with an interested party.

Charlton are set to get their 2026/27 league campaign underway against Derby County, in what promises to be a tricky test against a side that were challenging for the play-offs last season.
