Olympique Lyonnais are in talks to sign Juventus forward Lois Openda (26), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

The battle to sign the Belgium international is hotting up. His loan from RB Leipzig has been made permanent for a little over €40m, however, having scored just twice in 34 matches for the Italian side last season, he is not expected to remain in Turin

In recent days, RC Lens have been pushing hard to bring Openda back to the Stade Bollaert, however, a deal is complicated by the forward’s high wage. If a loan were to be agreed, Juventus would have to continue to pay a part of his salary.

Lyon have also opened talks and crucially have more wiggle room when it comes to integrating the player into their wage structure. Both Lens and OL can offer the prospect of UEFA Champions League football next season.

Coventry City, who have also opened talks over a loan move, cannot, but can at least offer Premier League football.
