Olympique Lyonnais could lose more players in the coming days. Speaking at a press conference on Monday to review the Rhône-based club’s summer transfer window, OL’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Gerlinger and sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean indicated that further transfers could still take place.
“It’s possible there will be departures,” said Louis-Jean. “There are still a few transfer windows open.” Whilst most leagues have now closed theirs, Brazilian and Saudi clubs still have until 11th September and 12th October respectively to finalise their squads.
At Lyon, several players could be set to leave. First and foremost is Mathys De Carvalho (21), who is reported to be close to joining Al-Diriyah. Nicolás Tagliafico (34), whose move to Atlético Madrid fell through, could also be on his way out. The same goes for Alejandro Gómez Rodríguez (18), who has not yet been selected by Paulo Fonseca since the start of the season.
