Lyon’s Pavel Šulc and Afonso Moreira to miss Marseille trip and Lens tie | OneFootball

Lyon will be without Pavel Šulc and Afonso Moreira for Sunday’s trip to Olympique de Marseille and next Thursday’s French Cup quarter-final at RC Lens.

According to Get French Football News, Paulo Fonseca said the next two matches seem impossible for both, adding that Šulc’s recovery timescale remains to be seen.

Šulc sustained a thigh injury in last Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at RC Strasbourg Alsace and was substituted before half-time. Moreira has been sidelined for three weeks and is still not fit.

The absences deepen OL’s problems in attack, with Malick Fofana and Ernest Nuamah already out for several months.

Fonseca described an ongoing issue with his forwards and admitted it is difficult with four attackers injured, saying defensive players are easier to replace. He voiced concern over the limited options and noted the missing pair provide defensive work and depth that was lacking in Strasbourg.
