Manchester United have the opportunity to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy for just €50 million next summer.

The 29-year-old has been on fire in 2025, earning high praise from fans and observers. BVB sporting director Sebastien Kehl went on to describe him as a ‘world-class’ striker, while noting that only Kylian Mbappe has a higher scoring average this year.

Guirassy has been on Man Utd’s radar for quite some time now, and they have recently rekindled their interest in his services. INEOS would like to pair Benjamin Sesko with a more experienced centre-forward.

Interestingly, the Red Devils have now received a major boost in the pursuit of the Guinean international.

Man United can sign Serhou Guirassy for £44m next summer

According to Sky Sport DE journalist Patrick Berger, Guirassy has a release clause inserted in his Dortmund contract worth €50 million (circa £44m), and it will become valid this summer.

Nevertheless, MUFC aren’t the only club pursuing the in-form striker, as the transfer market expert reveals six other suitors in Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

The reporter also adds that Guirassy had rejected a tempting €20 million salary from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal last summer, as he has realised that he’s now at the peak of his powers, and thus intends to continue playing his football in Europe.

Guirassy is now ready for prime time

After a host of stints at the likes of Stade Rennais, Stuttgart, and currently at Dortmund, Guirassy has now acquired important experience, and his stats suggest he’s now ready for a career step-up. At the age of 29, this is certainly the right time to make the move.

Considering how Man Utd paid over £70 million to recruit Sesko last summer, splashing £44 million for the Guinean would arguably be a savvy deal, especially considering how Guirassy outscored the Slovenian over the past couple of seasons.

Nevertheless, beating off the competition remains a daunting task. At this stage of his career, the Arles native will be keen to play in the Champions League, so it remains to be seen if Old Trafford will be hosting special European nights next season.
