Major update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Julián Álvarez | OneFootball

An altogether noteworthy update on the efforts of Barcelona to bring Julián Álvarez to the club from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid has on Friday surfaced online.

This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana are increasingly moving away from a deal for the Argentine.

Frontman Álvarez has of course been hotly tipped for a move to Catalunya’s capital next summer.

As much comes as those behind the scenes at the Spotify Camp Nou seek out a long-term replacement for the departing Robert Lewandowski.

Álvarez, young, talented and La Liga-proven, has in turn been named as one of the leading options for Barcelona.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Deco and co. appear to be increasingly of the opinion that the World Cup winner is perhaps not the answer.

As per a report from journalist Alfredo Martinez:

‘Julián Álvarez is losing ground as a future signing for Barcelona. His disappointing performance at the Camp Nou has reduced the Blaugrana’s interest, as they believe he’s not worth what Atlético are asking for him.’
