This could yet prove to be Dusan Vlahovic’s last season in Serie A. He did score a big goal against Lecce yesterday but his contract renewal at Juventus is yet to be sorted out.
His current deal runs out in the summer, with the Serbian the highest paid player at the Bianconeri. This is making them reconsider, take their time and assess how they can potentially find a wage packet that satisfies all parties.
In the meantime, Bayern Munich’s interest has emerged. La Gazzetta dello Sport note that he is among the replacements for Harry Kane, if the Englishman does end up leaving in the summer.
He will arrive on a free transfer, which will prove lucrative for a player who is in his prime. Beyond that a deal will also prove good tactically.
Since Vlahovic first broke into the Fiorentina first-team, he has best been operating in the channels, making runs and exploiting spaces. In Serie A, that hasn’t always been the case since he joined Juve, who have more of possession regularly.
In Bundesliga, teams always play with a higher line. That is why a move to Germany will make sense and Vlahovic will always play to his strengths, instead of playing against teams that sit deeper all the time.
