Málaga have started planning for Primera División, prioritising additions at centre-back to build a robust, competitive squad.

According to Superdeporte, Loren Juarros is monitoring three Basque defenders, Aritz Elustondo, Jon Pacheco and Jon Balda.

Elustondo is the most established profile, a seasoned top-flight centre-back whose leadership and knowledge of the division would add authority.

Pacheco is viewed as both present and future, having progressed markedly in recent seasons. He is noted for his passing from the back, anticipation and defensive versatility.

Balda, a younger option with upside, is also on the radar. His development potential fits a plan to blend emerging talent with experience.

No agreements are in place at this stage, and the market is only just getting under way. Málaga’s recruitment drive signals an intent to build a defensively solid group for their return to the top tier.
