oma vs. Milan, on January 25th at 8:45 PM at the Stadio Olimpico, promises to be a crucial match for the Giallorossi.
Not only is it a win in the league table, but it’s also a chance to reverse their negative trend in head-to-head matches.
Roma needs a positive result to avoid losing ground, especially in light of other matches like the one between Juventus and Napoli.
Gian Piero Gasperini, who will not hold a pre-match press conference, has already begun studying the best tactical solutions for the match against Milan.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi coach is working on several play-offs ahead of the match.
With Dybala and Malen certain to start, the third offensive player remains to be determined. Cristante, Pellegrini, and Soulé are in contention for the starting spot.
Gasperini is considering moving Cristante up to the attacking midfielder role behind the two forwards, allowing him to field either El Aynaoui or Pisilli.
The latter, in particular, impressed with a brace in the Europa League and could start. Alternatively, Gasperini could opt for the usual 3-4-2-1 formation, with Pellegrini favored over Soulé for the left attacking midfielder spot.
In defense, Ghilardi will slot in alongside Mancini and N’Dicka to complete the defensive line. Ziolkowski and Rensch will be useful down the stretch, if needed. Celik will play on the right, while Wesley will face former player Saelemaekers on the left.
