Malick Fofana and Ernest Nuamah return as Lyon host Rennes | OneFootball

Lyon host Rennes on Sunday at 20:45 in a key bid for Champions League qualification, with Malick Fofana and Ernest Nuamah back in the squad. According to Le Progres, neither will start, but both could feature if required.

Coach Paulo Fonseca said Rémi Himbert has returned to fitness but will not be in the squad, and he welcomed extra options on the flanks.

Hanz Hateboer, loaned by Rennes, is unavailable because a clause prevents him facing his former team-mates.

Lyon come into the game on three straight wins over Lorient, PSG and Auxerre, and Fonseca intends to lean on that momentum.

Fonseca described Rennes as a strong side with an excellent coach, and downplayed any revenge angle after the 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture. He noted a feeling of injustice on that day, said he has nothing against Rennes, trusts his players, and that they must show they are in a good moment.
