Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Erwin Saavedra has rediscovered his form in the Division Professional Clasura.
The 29-year-old midfield maestro is currently in the books of Bolivian giants Club Bolivar and has caught the eye with his recent performances.
Saavedra has been in impressive form as he scored one goal and provided two assists in his last two outings, operating as an anchor man.
He returned to Bolivar on a permanent transfer in February 2025 on the back of an injury-ravaged stay with the reigning Betway Premiership champions.
The Bolivia international had been recalled from his loan spell at Bolivar in January 2025, but a loan move for Lucas Suarez sealed his fate as Downs cut ties to free their foreign quota for the Argentine.
Sundowns lured Saavedra to South Africa in a reported deal worth €700 k (R14 million) in a high profile move in February 2022 – but the player didn’t live up to expectations.
During his stint at Chloorkop, the right-footed utility player made a total of 13 appearances across all competitions and failed to contribute to a goal or an assist.
For Bolivar, Saavedra has played 156 matches in all competitions, including the Copa Libertadores, netting 33 times while setting up 22 goals.
