Manchester City continue to monitor the performances of Italy international and Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, but Pep Guardiola’s side have not yet made a formal approach for the versatile defender according to the latest updates.
According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, City have been closely following Cambiaso’s development. The player is said to be grateful for Guardiola’s appreciation.

Full-back is an area that City will look to strengthen in the coming transfer windows, particularly given Kyle Walker’s expected departure in January. The Englishman continues to be linked with a move to Milan, despite additional interest from Saudi Arabia.
City are not the only ones interested in Cambiaso, as reports earlier in the season claimed that Real Madrid are studying him and view him as a potential alternative to Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold on the transfer market.
Given Cambiaso’s versatility, able to play at either side of a back four, at wing-back and potentially in midfield if required, his profile matches a number of defenders who have excelled at the Etihad in recent years.
Another former Juventus full-back in Joao Cancelo offered similar versatility during his time with City, and went on to become one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking full-backs.
The same could also be said of recent England international Rico Lewis, who has often featured at left-back, occasionally on the right and sometimes at the base of central midfield.
