RESULTS:

FULL TIME! MAN CITY 3-0 LIVERPOOL

A dominant display from City and a real statement of intent.

Video OneFootball

It looks like it will be them, and not Liverpool, who challenge Arsenal for the title this season.

It's now four straight away league losses for Liverpool.

Their title defence is currently up in smoke.

City are comfortably seeing this out as they prepare to move four points behind Arsenal.

"Sacked in the morning" chants from the home end.

That obviously won't happen but it's another damaging day for Arne Slot.

After two wins lifted the mood, it's back to the drawing board for him.

That was Liverpool's first shot on target, and Salah has just put one wide of the post when you'd have backed him to score.

Sums up his day.

Donnarumma denies Szoboszlai with a strong save.

Cracking strike from the Liverpool midfielder.

It all feels a little too late though.

GOAL! WHAT A STRIKE FROM DOKU!

He's been City's best player today and he's got the goal he deserves.

What a goal it is too, as the winger curls an absolute screamer into the top corner after cutting in from the left.

Stunning.

Gakpo really should do better at the back post after the ball comes to him.

He smashes it over the bar. Big chance.

Having scored City's second, Nico almost gets Liverpool's first.

He throws a leg out and hits the ball onto the roof of the net from a cross.

Slot makes his changes - Andy Robertson and Hugo Ekitike are off for Milos Kerkez and Cody Gakpo.

Doku continues to be City's standout and he tests Mamardashvili with a drive after cutting in from the left.

Liverpool are doubling on him but it's not reaping too many rewards.

Surprisingly it's City making the first sub, with Rayan Cherki coming off for Savinho.

Donnarumma comes rushing out to meet Mohamed Salah after a through ball but it's Rúben Dias who clears the ball away.

The Reds have started the second half better but they really need to get a goal soon.

City looking strong at the back.

BACK UNDERWAY!

Can Liverpool turn this game around or will City close the gap at the top to four?

Should this goal have stood?

HALF TIME!

City two goals to the good and good value for it.

A really poor half from Liverpool with that disallowed goal being their only attacking moment of note.

Questions to answer for Slot.

GOAL! CITY DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!

Right before half time whistle, City make it 2-0 through Nico González.

After seeing a goal ruled out, van Dijk plays a big role in this one, with the ball deflecting off him and into the net.

City in complete command now.

DISALLOWED GOAL FOR LIVERPOOL!

With Liverpool's first effort on goal, Virgil van Dijk thinks he's headed Liverpool back onto level terms.

It's a brilliant header but Andy Robertson is ruled to be in an offside position and in the view of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Arne Slot is fuming. Big, big call.

GOAL! HAALAND IS INEVITABLE!

Did anyone doubt that he would respond to his penalty miss?

It's slightly fortuitous as Matheua Nunes' cross bounces off Konaté and onto the striker's head, ending up in the far corner.

A fully deserved lead for City, and Haaland is now just one away from the Premier League 100 club.

Doku has Conor Bradley's number here so far. The City winger smashes one into the side netting after fashioning a chance.

City have very much been in top here so far despite the possession being shared.

If they can score first, they will be very confident of winning this.

BIG CHANCE!

Doku is causing havoc down the left and he slips the ball into the box for Rayan Cherki.

The French attacker can't sort his feet out, allowing Ibrahima Konaté to block his shot.

That is a huge moment for Liverpool, who have not going here.

Can they build on it?

HAALAND MISSES!

Incredible.

The City striker has barely missed a chance all season but his poor spot kick is well read by Mamardashvili.

Redemption for the Reds keeper.

PENALTY TO MAN CITY!

Giorgi Mamardashvili takes down Jérémy Doku after the City winger gets in on the left.

It is very marginal but after a pitch side review, the spot kick is awarded.

Slow start to the game with both sides feeling each other out.

KICK OFF!

And we're underway

Just over ten minutes to go until our main event and the last game before the international break.

If it couldn't be more hyped already, Sunderland's late, late show against Arsenal makes it even more exciting.
