Manchester City are reportedly considering Argentina international Geronimo Rulli as back-up, with James Trafford close to joining Leeds United.

Fabrizio Romano reports that City want the Marseille goalkeeper, 34, to replace Trafford as their No 2.

Leeds are on the verge of breaking their transfer record to sign Trafford as their new No 1 in a deal worth £40m plus add-ons.

City signed Trafford from Burnley last summer, and the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma later left him as the club’s No 2.

Rulli is understood to be keen on the move, and Marseille are aware of the interest.
