Title rivals face down in decisive showdown at Etihad Stadium
Arsenal travel to Manchester City this afternoon in the biggest game of their season so far. The Gunners lead the Premier League title race by six points with six games to go this season. Pep Guardiola’s City have a game in hand on Mikel Arteta’s men, which they will play against Burnley next week. Today’s hosts could move to within three points of the league leaders with a victory today.
Guardiola and City know that anything less than a win will not be enough as they look to chase Arsenal down in the final knockings of a thrilling Premier League season. Guardiola has gone as far as saying that a defeat this afternoon would mean that the title race is over. The Gunners, however, are in patchy form, having won just once in their last five games.
Arteta’s side were unconvincing in their 0-0 draw with Sporting Lisbon last time out, and they suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat by Bournemouth in their most recent league outing to open the door for City. Stay up to date with all the latest from the Etihad Stadium with our live blog below, including expert insight from Matt Verri at the ground.

There must be 100 fans pitchside ahead of kick-off. It’s absolute chaos in the technical area.
Think the more exclusive club at the moment might actually be those in the stands.

”That's an Arsenal lineup that will increase the belief among supporters. Havertz up front is the right call - Arsenal need someone up front today who can hold it up and ease the pressure on the defence.
“Eze on the left, with Odegaard back to start at No10. A lineup that should offer much more technical security than we've seen recently. “

A defeat today will not be a disaster for Arsenal.
If City win today, and then beat Burnley in midweek, they will drop into second (again, ole ole).
But their fixtures thereafter are far kinder than City’s. All extremely winnable.
It’s not do-or-die today. But you feel the players will need to be told that.

As Matt says, Timber absence aside, that’s the line-up all Arsenal fans wanted to see.
Stunned silence surely around the Etihad as most of Arsenal’s doubtful players are fit enough to start - and that’s a huge boost for today’s visitors.
Guardiola, meanwhile, has settled on his team for the run-in.

Plenty of question marks on player availability head of the game, and most have made it.
O’Reilly starts for Man City, meaning Guardiola has named the same team which wiped the floor with Chelsea last week.
It is two changes for Arsenal, with Odegaard replacing Martinelli and Havertz starting ahead of Gyokeres.
Madueke also starts, but Calafiori and Timber miss out.
