Man Utd announce retained list

Manchester United have shared its official retained list that confirms three first team departures.
Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelöf, and Jonny Evans have all been released with the latter retiring from football after making his final United appearance in a post-season friendly.
Eriksen joined the club from Brentford in the summer of 2022 and played 106 games in which he scored eight goals including on the last day of the season against Aston Villa.
Defender Lindelöf signed for United from Benfica in 2017 and spent eight seasons at the club in which he featured 284 times while fellow centre-back Evans came from the academy and rejoined for a surprise second stint in 2023. In total, the 37-year-old played 241 games for the club and won three league titles, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Champions League.
Meanwhile, backup goalkeeper Tom Heaton was expected to be among those players released but the 39-year-old is in talks for a new deal for the upcoming season.
The club also announced the departure of academy players Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan, and Tom Wooster on the expiry of their respective contracts.
