Barcelona are reportedly plotting a comically low offer of £13 million for Marcus Rashford, according to MailSport.

The Blaugrana are unwilling to shell out the £26m buy fee set by Manchester United this summer, despite just committing to an exorbitant £70m package for Anthony Gordon.

Rashford poised to miss out on permanent Barcelona move after Gordon switch

As soon as Barça ignited their pursuit of the Everton graduate, Rashford’s Camp Nou future was immediately cast into doubt.

Gordon is three years younger than his England teammate and can occupy the exact same positions, either on the left flank or up front.

The fact that Barcelona met Newcastle United’s financial demands, yet have been dragging their heels over Rashford’s asking price, just goes to show how they view the players and the respective roles they would play under Hansi Flick; they’re not spending that on Gordon to have him as a squad player next season.

INEOS will have to find another buyer for Rashford

Instead, it seems they would rather retain United’s former No.10, who’s valued at £35m by Transfermarkt, as a rotational option throughout 2026/2027, hence preparing such a cut-price bid.

It goes without saying that the proposal will be laughed off by INEOS. Rashford returned an impressive 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances this term, so you’d imagine he wouldn’t be short of suitors if the La Liga champions are made to send him back to Carrington.

Either way, his time at Old Trafford is as good as over, even if his contract does run until 2028.
